This past month I loved a little colour, mostly as long as it was blue.
More cool days, some warm days and a permanent need for rainwear - not so different from April after all. The main difference, for me, was that I seemed to get a bit of extra colour. Monochrome and denim are the greatest staples and the very basics of style for most of us but this time, the old craving for blue goes way beyond wearing jeans. Enter sports blue, iced blue, powder blue, sky blue and navy blue, and some new retro vibes.
Besides seasonal khaki and stripes, I added a few things to the late spring wardrobe: a white-based check shirt, white vintage tops, the A-line skirt, a leather bomber, silver oxfords and a black sparkly pair (both amazingly comfortable to wear, a surprise, that), and another nod to the Seventies trend with flared sailor jeans and a dogtooth-chevron stripe tan fitted shirt. Most are old items I've had for ages, mind you, or bought for mere pennies in the early sales.
As you can see I'm making an effort to wear skirts and dresses again, and I can't wait to jump back into sandals in June, that really does make all the difference.
